The "CNIMA" accordion workshops are an opportunity to
acquire or develop your instrumental technique with the
Jacques Mornet Method, a winning pedagogy that has earned the CNIMA the best results in the world at international competitions.
Holding the instrument, balance of the bellows, spinning of the sound, palette of touches, musicality etc... Come and work on 1 or 2 pieces of your choice and of all styles (variety, classical, musette, jazz, balkans...).
Full board or day school, in the unique, family and relaxed atmosphere of CNIMA.
Trainers: Jacques Mornet is a world-renowned accordion teacher, holder of the Gus Viseur prize and the silver disc of the Russian Gnessin Academy and founder of the CNIMA. Nathalie Boucheix is a virtuoso accordionist, winner of the most important international competitions, co-founder of the CNIMA of which she is the director. Their team is composed of teachers with great artistic and pedagogical skills.
Content:
Instrumental work based on the Jacques Mornet method. Approach of the accordion as a wind instrument. Management of the air column and the bellows. Search for a balance between body and instrument. Work on the touch and the articulations. Quest for musicality. Work on 1 or 2 pieces of your choice (variety, classical, musette, jazz, balkans...). High speed progress garanteed. Video at the beginning and end of the workshop.

Who are the "CNIMA" accordion workshops for?
1 For minors who love the buddy/girlfriend atmosphere, but who work hard and are supervised in total security.
2 For young enthusiasts who benefit from the mutual emulation, the fraternal atmosphere and will become professional.
3 For adults who are new to the instrument and who will progress rapidly on a good basis with the benevolence of the team.
4 For confirmed musicians or professionals who will improve by relying on the pedagogical system that has trained many of the great names of the accordion today, artists and teachers.
Schedule:
The "CNIMA" workshops can be done over 5 days or over 2 days and a half.
5-day workshop: from Monday noon to Saturday noon, each half-day, 1 hour of group lesson and ½ hour of individual lesson, on 1 or 2 pieces of your choice. 20h30 in total.
2 ½ day workshop : from Monday noon to Wednesday evening, each half day, 1 hour of group class and ½ hour of individual class, on 1 or 2 pieces of your choice. On the same dates as the 5-day workshops. N.B.: Possibility to continue the workshop after the 2 ½ days.
Teaching fees :

Workshops specifically designed for "adults" are in smaller groups and have an added cost of 50 €

Swing Musette accordion workshop

Content:
Learn to use your accordion as a POCKET ORCHESTRA. Play a base line, a rhythm pattern while adding some melodic counterpoint and hold notes like a string quartet. Give space to the soloist to express himself freely and embellish your playing without never getting in his way.
Instrument practice: technique, rhythm, harmony.
Theory: Reminder of harmony basics, chords extension, counterpoint. Transcribing recordings. Work on various rhythm and style. Write your own sheet music for accordion.
Duet playing switching roles from soloist to accompanist.

Medium to advanced level

Accordion and chamber music Ensembles workshop "Make Your Own Project"

Dates : August 12-18 2024
Trainer: Within a few years, Félicien has become one of the most highly praised prolific and creative French classical accordionist. He trained for many years at CNIMA, under the guidance of Jacques MORNET et Nathalie BOUCHEIX, and won the best international accordion contests. In his weekly accordion show "Brut d'accordéon" on National French radio France Musique, he explores the many facets of accordion music throughout the world.

Content: Apprehend the various problematics a professional musician faces in his career as a classical musician whether he is a soloist or work in an ensemble. Conceive an artistic project: imagine, organize, realize, communicate.
Audience : For all intermediate or superior level accordionists, musicians and music ensembles
Prerequisite:
- Send a quick video upon registration so we can assess your level and prepare a repertoire accordingly.
- Bring a piece you have been studying as a solo accordionist or musician or with a music ensemble (duo, trio, quartet).
- Be ready for an intensive 5 day workshop with possible sessions in the evening depending on the number of students.

Learn the language of jazz by studying jazz standards, blues and chord sequences. Practice improvisation alone or with a band.

Singing workshop
with Mylène Mornet
from July 8th to 13th 2024
Trainer:
Student at the CNSM in Paris, Mylène Mornet obtained a first prize in singing, and then won numerous national (Alès, Béziers) and international (Voix d'Or, Marmande, Rennes) competitions. Her discography includes "La Périchole" and "Les Diamants de la Couronne" for Harmonia Mundi.
Content:
Perfecting vocal skills through technical work: vocal agility, nuances, sensitivity... Interpretation of an individual song on soundtrack. Stage work with professional training: posture, microphone management, ease... Group singing to develop the practice of polyphony, harmonization, listening to others and sharing... International variety and French song.
